Gorewada Safari refers to the Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada International Zoological Park in Nagpur, Maharashtra — a 1,914-hectare wildlife destination combining a drive-through zoo safari (Tiger, Leopard, Sloth Bear and Herbivore zones), an open-Gypsy jungle safari through 16 km of dry-deciduous forest, a lake-side Bio Diversity Park, and an animal rescue centre. It is one of India's largest zoological parks, home to over 50 wildlife species.

Gorewada Safari is on Katol Road, Bodhala, near Fetri, Nagpur, Maharashtra — about 8 km from Nagpur's Zero Mile. It's easily reached by private vehicle, taxi, or auto-rickshaw from the city centre in roughly 20–30 minutes.

It's roughly 12–15 km from Nagpur Railway Station and about 15–18 km from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport — approximately 30–40 minutes by road depending on traffic.

The Indian (Zoo) Safari runs 8:30 AM to 4:45 PM in half-hour batches. Each ride lasts 50–60 minutes in an AC bus. The zoo is closed on Mondays.

The AC Premium bus safari costs ₹300 per person on weekdays and ₹400 per person on weekends and public holidays. Prices are subject to change — confirm current rates before you travel.

Yes — the Tiger Safari zone is one of the four drive-through zones. Sightings aren't guaranteed on every visit since animals roam a large open enclosure, but tigers are regularly spotted, especially during cooler morning and late-afternoon slots.

A separate open-Gypsy safari through a 16 km forest route, distinct from the zoo safari. It runs in the early morning (around 7:55–8:30 AM) and late afternoon (around 4:05–4:30 PM), lasting about an hour. You may spot leopards, nilgai, deer, peacocks and other birds.

Yes — you can drive your own vehicle in with a forest permit. A hatchback/sedan costs ₹500 permit + ₹100 per person; an SUV costs ₹600 permit + ₹100 per person. A guide is compulsory, at an additional ₹300.

A peaceful 2.5 km nature and lake-side walking trail around Gorewada Lake — ideal for birdwatching and spotting botanical trees, separate from the vehicle safaris. It's popular with both tourists and local morning/evening walkers.

No — it's closed on Mondays. It operates every other day, including weekends and public holidays, though weekend/holiday tickets cost slightly more.

Early morning slots (soon after 8:30 AM opening) and late afternoon slots give the best chance of animal sightings, since wildlife is more active when it's cooler. Winter (November–February) is generally the most comfortable season, avoiding Nagpur's peak summer heat.

The Zoo Safari takes 50–60 minutes and the Jungle Drive about an hour. To combine the Zoo Safari, Jungle Drive and a walk through the Bio Diversity Park in one trip, budget half a day — around 4–5 hours.

Stay inside the safari vehicle at all times, avoid loud noises that could disturb the animals, and follow your driver/guide's instructions. Feeding animals, littering, and flash photography near enclosures are typically not allowed. Carry valid ID and arrive 15–20 minutes before your slot.
